Counselling & Support
ICM 11-25
We offer 50 minutes once a week with the assigned counsellor for an initial block of 12 sessions. Everyone’s counselling journey is tailored to the individual’s needs, and for that reason, you will be seen for the length of time you need. You and your counsellor can decide to continue after the initial 12 weeks if you both feel this would be a benefit to you, but equally you can choose to end before the 12 week mark. This is your time to talk about whatever you need to in a confidential and safe environment. Counselling sessions cost £15 per session, however the initial session is £10. We do have a financial hardship fund and we are able to offer some free sessions, please talk to a member of the team for more information.
ICM wellbeing (launching soon)
ICM Wellbeing is a block of three sessions for those aged 16 and under. These sessions will focus on the basics of wellbeing and how small changes can make differences to the way you feel. They will cover topics like sleep, social connections and health. You will have three 50 minute sessions over the course of three weeks. If the counsellor feels there is a benefit to you attending further sessions and you would like to embark on a longer counselling journey, then you will be put back on the waiting list until you can be matched with a counsellor for the ICM 11-25 programme. These counselling sessions cost £15 per session. We do have a financial hardship fund and we are able to offer some free sessions, please talk to a member of the team for more information.

ICM Parent Empowerment
We run online webinars for parents who want to learn about different issues that may be affecting their children. Some of our counselling team are there to do a live Q&A and we cover topics like, school avoidance, neurodiversity anxiety and more. Our next session will be supporting parents who are exploring whether their child may have ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with speakers from leading neurodiversity charity Bibic and Speech and Language Therapist and ASD specialist Alice Cantwell. Register below to be invited to our next free session.
Initial Session
If you decide to reach out to ICM, the first thing we will do is ask you to come in for an Initial Session. This first session is for you to give us your details and a chance for you discuss with one of our Senior Counsellors why you are coming to us for support. During your session the counsellor will be trying to understand your needs and get an idea of what support would most benefit you. A good place to start would be to have a look at our homepage, there are lots of topics on there that people come here to discuss. Have a read through some of those and see if they resonate with what you are feeling.
Counselling rooms
Thanks to the support of the National Lottery, we have a suite of 10 counselling rooms including a room with disabled access. This has allowed us to open up our service and support more people than ever.
We know for many of you coming to a new place, meeting people you do not know can be very daunting and overwhelming so we are pleased to show you a few pictures of rooms at ICM's offices in Highbridge. You can take a look around the counselling rooms and get an understanding of where you will be coming to.
